EXCLUSIVE: Hannah calls out Paul for being ‘dismissive’ and ‘lacking basic respect’.

With Final Vows just a few days away, Married At First Sight introduced a brand new task to the experiment in Monday night’s episode. Final Test Week gives participants the chance to go on a date with their ‘backup option’ to see if the grass is greener on the other side before deciding whether or not to continue their relationship in the real world.

While a handful of people declined to meet their ‘Plan B match’, Paul Antoine accepted the task and went on a date with 32-year-old Hannah Renee because he was “extremely curious” to see if they were compatible. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t feel any connection with Hannah – who he described as a “Barbie” – and his ‘wife’ Carina Mirabile felt so betrayed by his decision that she wanted to end their relationship.

Hannah has now spoken out about the episode and slammed Paul, telling Yahoo Lifestyle that she believes he is “dismissive” and “lacks basic respect”.

“I don’t blame him for not being interested – I was calling him out and I had my walls up,” she shares. “He also had an amazing wife waiting for him at home. Watching him backpedal after realising how his behaviour towards Carina looked was telling.

“Paul represents a type of man we’ve all met: charming on the surface, but when things don’t go their way, the mask slips. His actions weren’t just disappointing, they highlighted a pattern many women have experienced: men who deflect accountability by criticising the women around them. It’s tired.”

Hannah went on to say that it was both “frustrating” and “validating” watching the episode on TV, and she feels sorry for what Paul did to Carina.

“She is a beautiful person inside and out!” she remarks. “Carina’s grace under pressure was incredible. She didn’t deserve to be treated like an option. She held her ground, and I think she showed a lot of women that you can walk away from someone who doesn’t respect you and still hold your head high.”

Many MAFS fans took to social media following Monday night’s episode to demand that “Queen Hannah” returns to the experiment as a participant next season. When asked if she would consider joining the reality show in 2026, Hannah admits it would depend on who she is matched with.

“If the intention is a real connection and emotional maturity, then yes. But I’m not coming back to babysit grown men through basic respect and communication. The bar is low out there but it doesn’t mean we have to step down to meet it,” she says.

I’d love the opportunity to come back to find a genuine connection in future seasons. I also think they need me to call out people’s BS.”
