Controversial Married at First Sight bride Jacqui Burfoot has revealed the truth about her status as a homeowner.
The 29-year-old created confusion during Homestays Week after it was revealed her Manly flat was, in fact, a $200-a-night Airbnb rented especially for the experiment.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the producers’ snafu because the luxury property looked nothing like the home shown during her wedding back story.
Now Jacqui has admitted she is taking advantage of what real estate gurus call ‘rentvesting’.
That means owning a rental property as an investment rather than buying it for a primary residence while renting another dwelling to live in.
‘I don’t own the home I live in,’ Jacqui explained in a recent fan question and answer session she posted on TikTok.
MAFS bride Jacqui Burfoot has revealed the truth about her status as a homeowner and has now admitted she has ‘multiple interests’. ‘Jacqui explained she did not own a home she ‘lived in’ in a recent fan question and answer session she posted to TikTok. (Pictured)

‘But I have my own money, my parents are property developers and I have multiple property interests.
‘Just because you’re not living in a home you own, it doesn’t mean you can’t afford it.
‘Often it makes more financial sense to be rentvesting, especially when you live in a big place like Sydney.
‘The place I used to rent was worth like $2.7m, so it’s actually cheaper because the rental yields are lower to be renting that place than to own it because of mortgage interest rates.’
Jacqui went on to explain that purchasing property in high-growth areas can lead to more substantial capital gains – profit on an asset purchase over time.
‘[Then you can] basically rent it out with a higher rental yield that covers the mortgage and interest rates,’ she said.
Jacqui said that the concept of ‘rentvesting’ was common for property owners in big cities not to live in their own home.
It comes after the jewellery store owner returned to the Northern Beaches for her Homestays Week and was shown entering a luxury pad in Manly that was supposedly her home.

However, the property was in fact a $200-a-night Airbnb rental.
A voiceover described the residence as ‘Jacqui’s home’, but in reality it was a two-story rental arranged by producers.
According to a production insider, Jacqui’s actual living situation was deemed ‘too small’ and impractical for filming.
‘She had roommates living at her house and it was in a messy state, and she didn’t feel comfortable with it,’ a source tells Daily Mail Australia.
‘Ryan and Jacqui were instructed not to make any mention that it was a fake house and just to pretend that it was actually Jacqui’s.’
Homestay week is designed to offer a glimpse into the daily lives of MAFS contestants, leading viewers to believe they are staying in their actual homes.
However, due to Jacqui’s real living situation – a small shared apartment in Manly – producers opted for a more visually appealing alternative.
Jacqui later took aim at Ryan’s home in the western Sydney suburb of Campbelltown, branding it ‘boganic’ – despite the fact Ryan owns the property outright.
Since filming wrapped, Jacqui has reportedly resigned from her Sydney job and relocated permanently to Tasmania to be with Clint – a major lifestyle shift that signals how serious the relationship has become.
Daily Mail Australia revealed last month that Jacqui had wasted no time ditching her TV husband Ryan and starting a new chapter with Clint.
While the pair are yet to publicly confirm if they’re officially a couple, all signs point to a post-MAFS love story the experts never saw coming.
With the reunion episode fast approaching, all eyes will be on Jacqui and Clint – and whether they’ll finally make their relationship official on national TV.
