Married At First Sight viewers were introduced to some new personalities in Monday night’s episode as a handful of participants chose to go on a date with their ‘backup option’. Final Test Week, which is a brand new addition this season, gives the remaining brides and grooms the chance to meet their ‘Plan B’ and see if the grass is greener on the other side before heading to Final Vows.

After being blindsided at the last commitment ceremony when her partner Teejay Halkias wrote ‘leave’, it came as no surprise that Beth Kelly agreed to meet up with Irish personal trainer Oisin Scully . The pair appeared to hit it off during their date, however, Beth tells Yahoo Lifestyle this wasn’t entirely true.

“I actually acted like I was having a good time because in all honesty, I felt so uncomfortable being there and all I kept thinking about was Teejay. Every time me and Oisin would laugh about something, all I kept thinking was that my banter with Oisin was nowhere near as good as mine with Teejay,” she shares.

“I tried to put on a brave face and just pretend, tried to convince myself almost that I was having a good time, but I really wasn’t.”

Regardless of her feelings for Teejay, Beth admits she wasn’t attracted to Oisin at all and describes him as a “f**k boy”.

“If he was my actual match, I would have left the experiment on day one I think,” she remarks. “He was so arrogant and so into himself. He kept licking his lips to flirt with me and I was like, can you put your tongue back in your mouth? It’s not sexy.

“He had his buttons undone on his shirt and I was like, you’re just a f**k boy and that doesn’t work for me. I was not into him. I think I just pretended I was because I just wanted to convince myself I wasn’t missing Teejay when I really was.”

She adds that she has “no idea” why the experts thought they would have been a good match, especially because she believes Oisin isn’t ready to settle down.

“I actually don’t know why they would have thought to put me with him. Maybe it’s just because he’s Irish and I’m British and they thought we’d bond over that, I don’t f**king know,” she laughs. “But honestly, he needs to be on FBoy Island or something like that. He is not down for marriage, let me tell you right now.”

When asked if she’s been in contact with Oisin since filming their date, Beth reveals that they haven’t spoken and she never wants to see him again.

“He actually asked me two or three times on the date, ‘Do you want to hang out? I’d love to take you out’. He wanted my Instagram and I was like, no, I’m not doing that,” she shares. “Because even though Teejay didn’t want me, in my mind, I’m a loyal person, I’m not going to do that.

“And also, I didn’t want to f**king see him again. Once was painful enough, I didn’t want to put myself through it again!”

As if her date with Oisin wasn’t bad enough, Beth says Teejay wasn’t happy with her for accepting the task – even though he also went on a date with his ‘backup’ Tara-lee Preston.

“He gave me a hard time for going on my date, which is really annoying. He made me cry,” she claims. “Unfortunately, this conversation was off-camera. He had to go at me and said that he thought now I was keeping him here out of spite. He just gave me a really, really hard time for it, which is really unfortunate.”

While Beth hasn’t spoken to Oisin since the show, Beth points out that this doesn’t appear to be the case for Teejay and Tara-lee.

“It’s actually come out that he ended up following her on Instagram and liked her photos while he was still filming, but yet gave me a hard time for going on my date,” she remarks. “Quite interesting!”

Teejay confirms to Yahoo Lifestyle that he and Tara-lee did follow each other on Instagram after the show but asserts that their relationship is purely platonic.

“Just because I’ve liked someone’s photo doesn’t mean I want to sleep with them or want to be involved with them,” he says.
