Married At First Sight viewers have been left raging over the latest ‘challenge’ on the show, which saw Jamie Marinos getting stood up.

The MAFS producers threw quite the spanner into the show this year by majorly testing the participants’ loyalty to their husbands and wives. The producers revealed that each person had a ‘Plan B’ backup match waiting for them and they could meet them if they wanted to.

On Tuesday night’s episode, Jamie Marinos, who has had a tumultuous few weeks with husband, Dave Thomas Hand, decided to go on the date, knowing that she and Dave have been on rocky ground recently. Meanwhile, Dave decided not to go to prove his loyalty to Jamie.

Jamie, however, was stood up by her backup match, with the bride forced to wait for someone who was seemingly never going to show up.

“How much more waiting do I do?” Jamie laughingly asked the producers. “When is he coming?”

“I don’t get it, is he coming out of somewhere, or…?” she quipped.

After waiting “all day”, a producer finally came over and put her out of her misery, by telling her, “I’m so sorry, I’ve just got a call… he can’t make it.”

“Well… So wait, I’ve been waiting around all day…” Jamie begins.

“Yeah, I’m really sorry,” the producer tells her. “I just took a call, and I don’t have an explanation.”

Speaking to the cameras, Jamie jokes, “I’ve never been stood up at a restaurant before in my life. And now I have to remember this moment for the rest of my life. It’s actually so embarrassing that now this is like a televised event.”

MAFS viewers were left annoyed by the producers, who they believe stood Jamie up on purpose, with one Instagram user writing, “Ugh this was so done on purpose!!! Shady producers.”

“At this point, I just want the reunion episode,” another person, who was clearly sick of the drama, added.

“This has to be the most twisted MAFS season of all time,” a third said.

“This was a set up!” someone else agreed, while yet another wrote, “This is set up by the show. It’s too lame not to be.”

“I have 2nd hand embarrassment for Jamie,” another added.

Many others slammed Jamie for going on the date in the first place, with many arguing she and Paul Antoine used the same argument of being ‘curious’ over who would be waiting for them. However, unlike Paul’s situation, where he was in a good place with ‘wife’ Carina Mirabile (who threw him out of their apartment for ‘cheating’ on her), Dave wasn’t angry with Jamie, but was happy she was stood up.

“When I was 12 I was curious. Now I just use my bloody brain cells,” one person said. “Grow up!!”

“You made a mistake here, Jamie,” another said.

“‘I don’t want to upset Dave BUT girl bye,” a third added. “This is just as bad as Paul especially after putting Dave through all that drama because he wasn’t in love with her yet.”

Some defended her, however, with one fan saying, “I don’t blame Jamie. Dave cut her very harshly emotionally and said things like ‘I don’t hate the girl’. Like WTF. He lost her then and even if he’s trying to claw his way back in she’s already halfway out the door.”
