MAFS viewers have been left divided after Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, following one of the experts’ brutal takedowns of a groom. Alessandra Rampolla is usually a fan favourite, but some are now saying she “needs to be replaced”.

During the commitment ceremony, Alessandra went hard on Paul Antoine, who confided in Awhina Rutene about some things he didn’t like about ‘wife’ Carina Mirabile, as he believed that was what the task of Feedback Week was. In case you missed it, Paul called his wife a ‘snob’ because of her reaction to finding out he had previously dated Awhina’s sister Cleo.

Carina told him she “didn’t think you would go for that calibre”, leaving Paul shocked. He then revealed the comment to Awhina during an ‘Honesty Letter’ task, and she was, understandably, hurt, given the comment was about her twin.

Carina, who had since apologised to Awhina, admitted to the experts she couldn’t “fully trust him right now” after what he’d done.

Alessandra told Paul that he has a “sensitivity chip missing”, as she can’t understand why he would tell Awhina what Carina had told him during a private conversation in the first place.

“You’re lacking emotional intelligence,” John Aiken agreed. “You’re not reading the room.”

Alessandra added that he was acting surprised that he was getting in trouble after breaking Carina’s confidence and trust when he could have simply raised the concerns with her, rather than telling another bride.

Carina explained that she was now questioning their compatibility, which Paul wasn’t expecting, so he apologised and promised to work to fix that.

MAFS fans were very much divided over Alessandra’s takedown of Paul, with one person writing, “Well done Alessandra you are spot on 👏👏 so glad you told him. Hope his eyes are opened up.”

“Get rid of Alessandra,” another begged.

“ALESSANDRA NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. Please listen to your fans, MAFS,” a third agreed.

“Alessandra.. as a therapist, you’re a total joke!” someone else added. “Always happy to shoot the guy down.. but won’t say anything when the woman does wrong.”

“YES! Nailed it, Alessandra!” another said.

“Alessandra needs to go…always choosing the wrong ones to side with,” someone else said.

“Do they never hold Carinas feet to the fire for anything?” another questioned. “It’s always everyone else’s fault when Carina is quite trifling herself. Like she needs to be held accountable for her actions and her words! This is madness!!! Why is she getting away with everything? Nonsense!”

“Carina owned what she said and apologised,” someone else pointed out. “Paul, however does not notice that what he did was betrayal between a husband and wife. He basically had a gossip sesh with Awhina.”

“Sorry but I’m getting sooo over Alessandra,” yet another wrote. “She only ever flexes her muscles when it’s against the guys but whenever the girls in the wrong she stays silent.”
