From Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou’s tense argument to Paul Antoine’s grovelling apology to Carina Mirabile, the final Married At First Sight dinner party of the season was filled with plenty of dramatic moments. Wednesday night’s episode centred around these two tumultuous pairs, with all of the other participants appearing loved up ahead of Final Vows.

However, it turns out there was a major incident between one of the couples that was completely edited out of the show. Beth Kelly tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she and her partner Teejay Halkias got into a huge argument at the dinner party, which ended with her storming out of the room.

“So all of the couples were given an honesty box at the final dinner party, but that wasn’t shown. We went around the room and I can’t remember what questions we got asked, but the conversation between me and Teejay was so heated,” she details.

“I remember being like, ‘You’ve not really tried, you’ve not even really taken me on a date’. And then Adrian was like, ‘Well, did you take Teejay on a date?’ and Teejay was like, ‘Yeah, you could have taken me on a date’. I was like, ‘Guys, are you f**king joking? Do you not hear yourselves right now?’.

“It just started building up and up, and Teejay just kind of spoke to me like s**t a little bit. And then I just took a moment, I paused, and then I just got the f**k up out of my seat so quick, I stormed out and I slammed the door.”

After she left the table, Beth says Jacqui Burfoot, Awhina Rutene and Jamie Marinos – who has been friends with Teejay since they were teenagers – all ran after her.

“I said to them, ‘He makes me question my own thoughts, my own feelings, my own reality’. Jacqui goes, ‘He makes you feel like you’re crazy, doesn’t he?’, and I said, ‘Yes’. And then Jamie goes, ‘Beth, he just gaslit you in there’,” she recalls.

“It became this whole f**king thing, I was trying not to cry. And then I went back into the dinner party and Adrian was like, ‘Do you have anything else to say, Beth?’. And I was like, ‘I have absolutely nothing left to say. And that’s how we ended it.”

Beth admits she’s “absolutely gutted” that the “explosive” moment wasn’t shown on TV, especially after her altercations with Ryan Donnelly were edited out of previous dinner party episodes.

“The fact they cut that whole thing out, I’m just so disappointed,” she remarks. “At that dinner party, I felt like I’d finally taken my power back and realised my worth, and they’ve just cut it all out. So now I just feel like I look like such a weak woman chasing after someone who did not see my value at all and clearly didn’t want me.”

Beth and Teejay’s dinner party fight wasn’t their only argument viewers didn’t get to see this week, with the UK-born bride revealing that they also went on a final date which was “absolutely horrible”.

“There was quite a lot of gaslighting going on. I hate using that word, but I do think it is what happened. I remember at one point I said to him, ‘You’re obviously extremely checked out of this relationship because you wrote leave’, and he said to me, ‘But you’re just assuming that, Beth. How do you know I’m checked out?’,” she shares.

“My mind was just mush at that point. I just thought like, ‘What do you mean?’. Because we’d just had a conversation privately the day before where he’d said, ‘Let’s just get back on track about being friends’. But then the day after, on camera, he’s telling me that I’m just assuming that he’s not interested anymore.

“It just confused the absolute f**k out of me. The day ended up in awkward silence, and I ended up just completely shutting down.”
