The glamorous backup brides and grooms set to rock Married At First Sight during this week’s “sickening” final task have been exposed.

The glamorous backup brides and grooms set to “wreck” Married At First Sight marriages during this week’s final brutal task can now be revealed.

The TV megahit will introduce the MAFS world first controversial task entitled ‘Is the Grass Greener on the Other Side?’ on Monday evening.

Participants will be presented with an envelope giving them the option of remaining committed to their current on-screen spouses or meeting an entirely new ‘backup’ match hand-picked for them by the MAFS experts.

Even the happiest couples were reportedly strongly encouraged to pursue their new suitors, who were scientifically their ‘better’ matches.

Single mother of one Awhina was paired with Gold Coast business owner Tim King, however, it did not go as planned for the promising duo despite their similar values and career paths.

Tim spoke to Daily Mail Australia’s Ali Daher on Monday and said the pairing came after he was supposed to enter the experiment as an original groom but faced setbacks.

“I was supposed to be an original contestant but my bride bailed, so I went off to Europe. Then they called me back as an intruder groom, but two days before I was meant to go on, I got a call saying they went with another guy,” he said.

“I was called back again when my original bride decided to come back, but I was still in Europe, so they found a replacement groom for her.

Tim said he finally got the call to enter the experiment’s final task, where he “hit it off” with Awhina but found he was more her “counsellor” than romancer.

“She was nice, but she wasn’t my type. I just played a counsellor role. I didn’t want to be the homewrecker,” he said.

Meanwhile, Beth was paired with Irish personal trainer Oisin Scully from Sydney, who, like Tim, was set to enter the experiment as an original cast member.

However, Teejay Halkias’ on-screen wife thought the gym junkie was full of himself and told him as much.

While Oisin was eager to impress the brunette beauty, his efforts did not pay off, and the potential new couple failed to form a spark.

A source said Beth agreed to meet Oisin despite not being serious about getting to know him.

She just wanted to open Teejay’s eyes and make him appreciate her more.

However, Teejay had the opposite experience with his new suitor, fiery Sydney redhead Tara-Lee Preston.

A production source said he and Tara-Lee, who is a sales consultant from Sydney, got along effortlessly.

The source said Teejay had a stronger connection with Tara-Lee in one day than he had with Beth in weeks and soaked up his newfound romance.

Paul met a new woman named Hannah, whose last name remains unknown.

The elusive new participant reportedly grilled Paul about why he decided to meet her despite appearing to be head over heels for Carina.

A source said the Frenchman told her he was simply curious, but Hannah was not convinced and said he wouldn’t have agreed to take on the task if he was truly happy in his relationship.

An insider said Carina felt betrayed when she learned about Paul’s curiosity and considered he was emotionally cheating.

The task is said to have torn the strong couple apart, with Paul instantly regretting his decision.

Adrian Araouzou was matched with his new suitor, a woman named Maxi, and it appears the couple may have found a spark.

The pair have been liking each other’s photos on Instagram since filming wrapped, fueling speculation they are still in close contact.

Paul Antoine, Adrian Araouzou, Ryan Donnelly, and Teejay Halkias all surrendered to the task and met their new matches, thus failing the task in the eyes of the experts.

Jamie Marinos, Awhina Rutene, Jacqueline Burfoot, and Beth Kelly also agreed to meet their new suitors.

In a cruel twist, Jamie’s new match stood her up, reportedly leaving her devastated and regretting her decision.

Dave Hand, Carina Mirable, Jeff Gobbels, and Rhi Disljenkovic were the only participants who decided to remain committed to their current spouses.

Last week, a production insider told Daily Mail the task derailed most participants’ marriages.

“The participants were asked if they wanted to meet their backup… It was f***** up because even happy couples were strongly encouraged to explore their options,” the insider said.

“This twist ruined marriages. Some couples ended things right then and there.”

The “heartbreaking” task got underway in the early morning hours, with participants separated and deciding to swap partners without first consulting their spouses or knowing what the other person would choose.

MAFS expert John Aiken defended the task and said it was necessary to push people to realise whether they believed in their match.

Sexologist Alessandra Rampolla also backed it, saying difficult choices caused fascinating reactions.

She maintained the task wasn’t about breaking the couples up but determining who was and wasn’t willing to fight for one another.
