Married At First Sight’s Paul Antoine was torn apart by the internet after he ‘cheated’ on his wife Carina Mirabile in a challenge that has been described as ‘the most f***ed in the show’s history‘.

Now, fans are calling on the groom’s backup bride Hannah Renee to return for season 13 of the hit series after she sensationally called out the groom for his behaviour.

During Monday night’s episode, participants on the show were given the choice to either meet with another compatible partner that the experts had found during the audition process or show loyalty to their spouse by staying at their apartments.

While 31-year-old Carina opted to forego the date, claiming that the test felt like ‘cheating’, her husband’s, 31, curiosity got the better of him as he went to meet his mystery woman, Hannah, 32.

However, during the sit-down drink, the Sydney-sider appeared nonplussed when Paul explained he and Carina were very happy and he had agreed to the date out of sheer curiosity.

As her body language toward Paul visibly shifted after his admission, Hannah questioned his motives when agreeing to go on the date and revealed to producers: ‘I do not want to be in a relationship with someone as curious as Paul.’

Now, Hannah has opened up about her date with the controversial groom to Yahoo! Lifestyle. 

‘Paul represents a type of man we’ve all met: charming on the surface, but when things don’t go their way, the mask slips,’ she said.

After the date, Paul revealed he felt no connection with his Plan B match, whom he later on referred to as a ‘Barbie’, however his wife Carina was left reeling and kicked the groom out of their shared apartment after revealing she had spent the afternoon doing the laundry and ‘folding his undies’.

Reflecting on Paul’s words about her, Hannah said she ‘didn’t blame him’ for not being interested in her, especially when she was ‘calling him out’ for his actions.

However, it was the moment he clocked onto his mistake that spoke volumes to the backup bride.

‘Watching him backpedal after realising how his behaviour towards Carina looked was telling.’

As for whether Hannah will give fans what they want and return to Married At First Sight in 2026, her attitude is never say never – with some conditions.

‘If the intention is a real connection and emotional maturity, then yes,’ she revealed, adding that she wasn’t going to ‘babysit grown men through basic respect and communication’ on the show.

Following the drama-filled episode, the show’s viewers were quick voice their support of Carina and their disappointment in Paul’s foolish act on social media.

‘No really… Paul’s on a date and Carina’s home folding his undies,’ one person wrote.

Another weighed in: ‘Paul thinks if he talks fast and a lot, the whole ‘I went on a date with another woman’ will go unnoticed.’

Another fan pointed out a hilarious detail in the episode, noting: ‘Paul getting cooked by the live poll is the icing on the cake,’ accompanied with a poll on the screen asking fans: ‘Will Paul’s curiosity jeopardise his relationship?’ and 94 per cent voting yes.
